Planted at the crossroads of roots and soul, Charlie A’Court has always been recognized for exploring his musical horizons. As a five-time East Coast Music Award winner and eight-time Nova Scotia Music Award winner Charlie’s blend of Americana and Blues has earned awards for Blues, Pop, and R&B/Soul Recordings of the Year, Entertainer of the Year.
Charlie’s, latest album is a special collaboration between him, Canadian roots/blues gem Suzie Vinnick and Australia’s leading man of the blues, Lloyd Spiegel.
The “International Roots & Blues Kitchen Party” is a 10 track acoustically-driven recording that showcases the different musical paths each artist has journeyed and how they come together to create a tapestry of skill and artistry.
A’Court is sought after for his style of Canadian soul. Whether it’s a full-blown electric rocker on “Can’t Stop the Clock” for Christine Campbell and “Love & Insanity” for Mike Biggar, or acoustic gems like “When The Lights Went Out” and “Through The Night” for folk-duo phenom Quote The Raven, Charlie is a stirring and poignant lyricist who just gets better with age.
Charlie’s next album, “San Palarino” (due out in 2024), leans into sentiments of moving through life, navigating troubled waters and the small joys of aging, all the while featuring co-writes with some of Canada’s best and brightest including Matt Andersen and Terra Spencer.
Charlie A’Court performs at national and international festivals like Stan Rogers Folk Festival (CAN), Mariposa Folk Festival (CAN), Great Southern Blues Festival (AUS), Woodford Folk Festival (AUS), repeat performances at Kerrville Folk Festival (USA) and has shared the stage with James Cotton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, George Thorogood, Harry Manx, Martin Sexton, Delbert McClinton, UB40, Canned Heat, Colin James, Dan Aykroyd and Jimmie Vaughan, among countless others.
